The show is based on an ancient Romanian folk tale, unique of its kind, combining fabulous elements with profound mythological and philosophical insights. Unlike most fairy tales, which focus on the conflict between good and evil, Forever young draws on the dramatic struggle to overcome the human limits in the eternal quest for ideals. More specifically, it is about man’s right to happiness and his refusal to settle for an average life.

There is an emperor and an empress – a childless couple desperate to have a baby; there is a doctor-magician who can fulfill their desire; there is a price to pay.. There is an unborn prince who cries inconsolably, refusing to come into the world. There is an impossible promise meant to overcome his reluctance: eternal youth and neverending life. A beautiful baby is born. His adventure is only beginning...

Music, songs and narration give birth to a reading in which the sound is the scenery.

A beautiful prince, in search of eternal life and oblivion, defeated by the untamed urge of remembering, who can’t bear the privilege he conquered.

In this way Vlad Scolari continues its journey through the Romanian Culture, a space of cultural mediation between the Eastern and the Western world, and deepens its searching for a balance among sound, music and spoken word.
